We offer LAMDA Speech and Drama classes to all pupils.
LAMDA is the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. The exams are a drama-based alternative to the Associated Board Music exams where pupils work through a series of Grades from Entry Level to Grade 8, and then Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals.
LAMDA examinations are designed to equip candidates, whatever their age or aspirations, with a range of skills that will serve them throughout life. Preparation for an examination unlocks the imagination and develops creative-thinking and communication skills as well as refining technical skills and artistry.
As with the Associated Board Exams, the higher grade LAMDA qualifications carry UCAS points which can help with university applications. If candidates achieve a good mark at Grade 8 it carries the same UCAS points as an A grade at AS level.
Miss Samantha Riley takes these classes and tuition is on a one to one basis and within pairs.
In line with the individual music lesson offered by the School, pupils will have lessons of half an hour a week throughout the school term. Lessons will take place in the Drama Department throughout the school day or immediately after school in a prearranged timetable, that Miss Riley will organise herself to suit the needs of pupils.
The cost of these lessons are:
£ 18 per person for an individual lesson for half an hour
£ 11 per person for a lesson for two pupils for half an hour
If you are interested, please complete the enrolment form below and return to Mrs H K Arnold in the Drama Department, the forms will then be passed onto Miss Riley who will send you a contract, a timetable for your child and will invoice you directly. As with music lessons, notice of half a term will be required should you wish to stop the lessons.
