Taking part isn't optional! We are in it to win it!
Lake is an exciting House to be a part of at present! We work hard for each other and play a competitive role in the Allen Grant Trophy. We have excelled in recent years and have managed to win the Allen Grant trophy an amazing three times in a row. The key to Lake’s success is our excellent communication skills and a willingness to step in and help each other at all times.
Sir Thomas Lake: Thomas Lake was born in Southampton in 1567. He attended King Edward’s as a day boy and proved perhaps the most distinguished Old Edwardian in history. He became ‘personal secretary’ to Sir Francis Walsingham, the Secretary of State. Walsingham brought Lake to the attention of Queen Elizabeth and he was appointed Clerk of the Signet in 1600. Lake became a favourite of the Queen, accompanying her on visits around the country and reading Latin to her.
