KES Guide Dog Puppy

Students have worked hard over the past three years to raise funds to sponsor a Guide Dog Puppy.

We held a fun run, a photo competition and a naming competition and managed to raise £2,500 which covers the year long training of our puppy.

Monty was born in December 2017 and has now completed the majority of his training.

The School's Charity Commission had the pleasure of being visited by Monty in September 2018.

Please see below for 'pupdates'.

PUPDATE! Monty is now living with his Puppy Walker, Linda and is making himself right at home! He is sleeping well, from 10pm to 6am, but he likes to make sure everyone else knows he is awake, so barks and howls for attention, which Linda is working hard to stop. Monty is learning basic commands such as 'busy busy' for doing his business, 'sit' and 'down'. He is also learning good food manners and waits for three peeps on a whistle before he tucks into his dinner. Monty has been out and about with Linda and has had a few car rides. He isn't too sure about this yet, but hopefully will, given more time. Monty's favourite toy is a plastic bottle full of pasta inside a sock! He also loves to try and chew his lead as well as Linda's feet.
