Sholing Partnership Project

Sholing Partnership Project 2019 (Monday 15th July – Thursday 18th July 2019).

Thank you for your interest in this worthwhile project, now in its second year.

The Project recruits a LVI team of six students who raise money and accompany a group of twelve Year 5 or 6 children from Sholing Junior School on an opportunity to have an adventure based at Lovaton. The children are selected by the staff at their own School; they often have life experience that is challenging but also may be those who would really benefit from both the time away and being inspired to fulfil their potential by spending time with wonderful LVI young men and women from KES.

Whilst costs are carefully controlled, the transport, food and activities need to be paid for. Last year, we did a lot of free activities and games en route to Devon, many near Lovaton exploring some of the landscape, went horse-riding on Dartmoor, swimming, enjoying fish and chips, ice creams and several fine homemade meals. As part of the team, you will initiate and support fundraising within School and in addition be expected to raise £100 through personal endeavour before July.

If you are interested in applying to be a member of the 2019 Sholing Project please:

  • Speak to the outgoing excellent team;
  • Check you are available for the dates above (First week of Summer Holidays)
  • Write an application letter to Rev Poppleton outlining the following:
  • Why you would like to be a part of the project;
  • What skills/attributes could you offer and mention any charity work that you have been involved in.
  • Mention any fundraising ideas you may have.

Please indicate whether you are applying for Summer Camp and/or Goedgedacht Project.

The deadline for application letters is Tuesday 2nd October. Please submit electronically to jgp@kes.hants.sch.uk with Sholing Partnership in the subject line.

We will then select 25 students to call for interview during the week of 2nd October and there will also be a team building activity session sometime in the week beginning 15th October at 4 pm. You will notified of the outcome shortly before half-term.

Very best wishes,

Rev P and the 2018 Team
