2018/19 has been another full and exciting year for the Historical Society. Under the careful and considerate stewardship of Omar Al-Gholmy and Mihir Thakrar, the Society enjoyed a number of talks ranging across the centuries and, with the introduction of A Level Politics, also addressing some more contemporary issues than before, such as the history and current situation of the Police Force in the UK. Perhaps the highlight of the year was Mr Thould’s farewell presentation. Mr Thould has been a strong supporter of the Society over the years, and to mark his retirement was invited to speak for one last time. The result was a spellbinding talk on “Robin Hood- Myth and Reality” that even included the Headmaster singing a medieval ballad about the famous outlaw to his appreciative audience!
