Outstanding Summer 2018 Results

A Level

99.7% of King Edward’s students in 2018 passed all of their A levels. 85% of all grades were at A*, A or B with over 54% at A* and A. A third of all students achieved at least 3 A and A* grades. 12 students have been offered places at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge and over four fifths of the UVI cohort will proceed to Russell Group universities.

Head Master, Julian Thould, comments:

“We are again delighted that our students have gained such excellent results, particularly given the additional challenge of the new linear A levels with the changes in both content and approach. They show what persistent hard work and outstanding teaching can achieve. Congratulations go to all of those who leave King Edward’s for university after such well-deserved success.”

99.7% of IGCSEs awarded in 2018 were at grade C or above with 73% of all grades at A* and A. 90% of all grades taken were awarded at A*, A or B. 99.9% of students obtained the minimum 5 GCSE passes including IGCSE Mathematics and English.

Head Master, Julian Thould, comments:

“We are delighted to report another set of impressive results, particularly given the pressures involved with preparing for new specifications in a number of subjects. Our students have worked with striking commitment and industry to achieve nearly three quarters of all grades at A or A* grade. This success is a fine tribute to our students and their teachers.”
