The leading national charity providing help and support to anyone caring for children – parents, grandparents, step-parents, relatives – for families living together as well as apart. They have a highly trained team of parents who understand the challenges; advising families on issues big and small to ensure that life is better for all.

Parenting Young Adolescents: A website based on the Australian ABCD Parenting Young Adolescents Program, giving information and support to parents and professionals. The ABCD program offers strategies and ideas to help parents raising an adolescent, and come up with solutions to problems.

Samaritans provides confidential emotional support 24/7 to those experiencing despair, distress or suicidal feelings.

Papyrus are the national charity for the prevention of young suicide and offer confidential help and advice through their 0800 HOPELineUK phone line. The website also provides help and support.

Youth in Romsey is a confidential support centre for young people aged 11-25 years. They can support young people on any issue including counselling, employment, education, financial help, sexual health and mental health.

No Limits No Limits is a charity that offers information, advice, counselling, advocacy and support for young people under 26 living in Southampton and Hampshire.

Eastleigh Youth Counselling Services This service gives young people the opportunity to talk about any worries, concerns or difficulties. The service is free and confidential for 11 to 19 years of age. At EYCS the Counsellors are specially trained to listen and support individuals through tough times.

General advice for young people: Heads above the waves offers information and a free UK-wide email and telephone helpline for young people. Helpline staff have access to a comprehensive database of information about counselling and all sorts of specific services, such as drug and alcohol services or those focused on particular issues like sexuality or self harm. They will talk things through and help you find the appropriate service in your local area. Calls are free from most mobiles and they can connect you to most of the services for free too.

Catch 22 is a social business providing services that help people in tough situations to turn their lives around. They provide support across 7 areas of expertise: Apprenticeships and Employability; Gangs; Social Action; Education; Justice; Young People and Families; Care Leavers.

Hampshire County Council Support Parent and Family Support offers advice and support for parents, carers and other family members with issues such as bereavement, teenage pregnancy, and parental contact. Additional services include an Information Directory containing details for family services, the Parent Partnerships for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs, and access to information about parenting courses.

Young Southampton - Southampton Children and Young People’s Trust - provides information and advice about a variety of topics for children and young people living in the Southampton area, with links to other useful websites, support agencies and helplines. Support includes help applying for work, health advice, homelessness, relationships and sexuality, money, work and training.
