Bienvenue à notre département de français!
Here in the French department we aim to promote the enjoyment of French from the First Year through to the Upper Sixth. Our team of five teachers plus our French assistant work together and teach with enthusiasm and dedication in order to make the lessons stimulating and rewarding.
All classes have their own tailored course and materials and every classroom is equipped with an interactive white board and the necessary sound systems. Our excellent resources all help to support students as they develop their linguistic skills. Many classes use digital textbooks and we have a dedicated French assistant who helps our students with their oral skills.
French students are encouraged to take part in a number of extra-curricular activities. There is a four day visit to Normandy for our Lower School pupils and Upper School pupils are offered a short trip to Paris once every two years, whilst the Sixth Form students take part in a language visit to Montpellier. Conferences, visiting speakers and theatre groups all play a part in making the learning of French an exciting and positive experience for all.
