Outside the classroom, pupils are encouraged to take part in a number of co-curricular activities in order to boost their linguistic skills and to make the study of French relevant and meaningful. We aim to promote independence and self-confidence and encourage our students to become competent linguists.
We offer a language trip to Montpellier in April for all Sixth Form students where they attend a language school and stay with host families. The Fourth and Fifth Year students are offered a trip Paris every two years where they attend lessons in the morning and enjoy the sights in the afternoon and the Second Year Normandy Trip takes place every July over the Endeavour Activities Days.
Every year is different but we try to host a visiting Theatre Group to perform to our Third Years and bring in some speakers to talk to our Fourth Years. In the past we have hosted language conferences and lunchtime talks and Sixth Formers have attended language conferences in London.
