Rheinland 2020

It is with regret that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this trip this year. All parents will be refunded in full.

This is an exciting chance for your son/daughter to visit a beautiful area in Germany next Easter. Along with the Music Department, we will be running a trip to the Rhineland from Friday 27th March to Tuesday 31st March 2020 and is open to all German students in the current Fourth Year. Included in the trip will be a German language lesson, day trips to Koblenz, Cologne and Rüdesheim, as well as a river cruise along the stunning Rhine.

The trip is being coordinated by the reputable school trip company, Rayburn Tours, who are ATOL licensed and offer full travel insurance and around the clock support whilst away. We will be staying in Bad Honnef Youth Hostel, which provides breakfast, dinner and ensuite rooms.

I will be able to provide more information on the itinerary nearer the time. This will be an excellent opportunity for the students to practise their speaking skills ahead of their summer oral examinations, as well as giving them the chance to experience German culture first hand.

Please note if your child does not have a British Passport they may require a Visa to visit Germany. This is the Parents’ responsibility to arrange and the School will not be liable for any costs incurred.

Please also note that your child will be covered by School insurance for this trip, but will not be covered for any pre-existing conditions. Parents may need to purchase their own insurance to cover such conditions. If you require further clarity on this please contact Assistant Head Co-Curricular Mr Kent.

If your child is interested in attending, please pay a non-refundable deposit of £50 via KESpay KP842 before Friday 17th May. The estimated overall cost for the trip is £450 and the final payment will be due in January.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs R L Hall
Co-ordinator of German
