On Friday 16th November the First and Second Year pupils joined forces with four other Southampton schools to form a 205 strong choir for BBC Children in Need. We had been preparing the song A Million Dreams for several weeks in the run up to the live broadcast. The pupils had refined a two part harmony for the final chorus and received a visit from Pudsey in October during one of our rehearsals!
The day was utterly unforgettable, coming together for such a great cause was a joyful event. The choir were brilliant in their committed and vibrant live performance. The Swing Band were also part of the big day. They performed live on BBC South Today, broadcast from the Dobson Theatre. Playing from memory, the Swing Band wowed the audience with The Bear Necessities which could not have been more suitable for the occasion. It was such a treat to watch them play and swing along to the great sound they made.
