Carol Service

The Carol Service began with a stunning candle lit procession of our combined choirs to Once in Royal David’s City. The Service included Symphony Orchestra instrumentalists, Lower School, Senior and Chamber Choirs combining with our Adult Choir of KES staff, family and friends. Beginning with Elgar’s The Snow, the abbey was filled with beautiful singing accompanied expertly by Alice and Yuqing with an exquisite violin duet. We enjoyed many congregational carols interspersed with joyous performances from the choirs and meaningful reading. Triumphant accompaniments from solo trumpets for Joy to the World were relished by all as the sound filled the abbey from Elias and Isobel. So too the chorus of ‘ding dongs’ from the Lower School Choir, bring joy to everyone with a thrilling enthusiasm. The evening welcomed the festive season with real joy and all our magnificent performers should be congratulated.
