Creative Arts Trip to Verona and Venice 2020

It is with regret that we have had to make the difficult decision to cancel the Creative Arts trip to Italy. All parents will be refunded in full.

Open to Third Years and Older

It is with great excitement to inform you of the Creative Arts upcoming trip to Verona and Venice next spring. The itinerary is designed to be not only culturally rich and mentally stimulating, offering our students opportunities they would not usual encounter on a trip to the city. It may seem a long way off, but plans are already in place and we would like offer you the opportunity to secure your son or daughter a place on the trip by paying a deposit.

Please see below our draft itinerary:

Friday 27th March – travel and arrival

Going from school to Gatwick airport we shall catch our EasyJet flight to Verona and transfer to the Hotel San Vito in Negrar.

Saturday 28th March

Verona – art lovers will spend the morning exploring Verona’s Gallery of Modern Art while musicians and dramatists discover the unique tale of the birth of the legend of Romeo and Juliet. With a local guide you will become an integral part of the story travelling between monuments, legends, facing riddles, games and clues. After lunch we can explore the city at our own pace. You may want to try some gelato! Then we return to the hotel for dinner.

Sunday 29th March

Venice – our morning will be spent taking part in a carnival mask making workshop, learning about their significance in the years of the Republic of Venice. The afternoon will be a real highlight as we travel around Venice in a Gondola seeing the sights from the water. We will return to our hotel for dinner.

Monday 30th March

Verona – for our second day in the city you can either spend your morning enjoying a Shakespeare workshop or have a tour of the famous Amphitheatre. After lunch we have some free time to enjoy the city before watching a performance and then return to the hotel for our final evening meal.

Tuesday 31st March

Heading home – After breakfast we will head back to the airport but make time for a short stop at a local town to explore and do some last minute souvenir shopping. We shall fly back from Verona to Gatwick and then return to Southampton to end our trip.
