What is a career in music really like?

Dr Carrasco visited KES this week, discussing her career and sharing her experiences with our Music Scholars, Captains and GCSE students. Discovering what passions drive you as a musician and what it is really like to be a successful professional were discussion points in her talk. Alongside this she questioned what future careers might change with the development of AI and reflected that musicians and creative performance is one career choice unlikely to be dramatically changed.

Our musicians had an opportunity to reflect on the realities of day to day life for professional musicians and to think about the qualities they might like to explore that make for such a diverse career. It was wonderful to have the opportunity and dedicated time to think about musical careers. We were very grateful to Dr Carrasco for sharing her experiences and giving us some food for thought.
