Brass Masterclass with Principal Trombone of the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Helen Vollam
KES Brass students had the opportunity to learn from one of Britain’s leading brass specialists in one-to-one masterclasses this week. Helen Vollam has a staggering CV: Principal trombone of the BBC Symphony Orchestra; member of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe; recording artist on films such as Star Wars, Inception and Harry Potter, the list goes on! It was our great pleasure to welcome her and learn from her during an engaging afternoon of brass performances. Students played a wide variety of repertoire and all gained fantastic insights into technique, performance polish and communication. It was w truly memorable experience and a wonderful way to celebrate the brilliant brass musicians at KES. Congratulations to all participants.
