Isabel Searles has been awarded a dignissima for English. Dr Schofield comments; ‘Isabel wrote an essay on Lago's methods of manipulation in Othello. This was detailed and cogent with a considered analysis of the hero's tragic status, the Elizabethan context and the opinions of several literary critics. It was a lengthy essay but every paragraph contained analysis and focus. It must have taken many hours to complete and Isabel went well beyond the remit in producing such an impressive piece of writing.’
Henry Townsend has been awarded a dignissima for History. Mr Diver comments; ‘Henry produced an impressive piece of work for a student in the very first term of A Level History. Henry went to the heart of the issue of religious devotion and the First Crusade setting out his arguments in a fully analytical and superbly supported manner. The end result was an essay of real quality that goes well beyond what could reasonably be expected even of very talented young historians at this stage.’
Well done to both students.
