On 4th February, the KES Chamber Choir travelled to Oxford to sing evensong at Worcester College alongside their College Choir. The Chamber Choir rose to the challenge of singing some advanced choral repertoire and excelled, being commended by the Director of Music at Worcester College for their knowledge, work ethic and choral sound. A particular highlight was the singing of Stanford’s 'For Lo, I Raise Up', a performance in which the choir’s enjoyment of the music was clear to all. Our students also had the opportunity to have a tour of the college, as well as have tea with the choral and organ scholars who were very willing to answer questions and share their experiences. The Chamber Choir is looking forward to performing this repertoire across a number of other events this term, including evensong at Winchester Cathedral on February 24th, putting into practise all they learnt at Worcester.
