The lower sixth Foundation Studies program consists of a series of sessions designed to equip students with the key skills necessary for sixth form success and to help prepare them for life after school.
In 2021-22 the sessions include:
- Presentation Skills
- Exploring Health and Social Issues
- Finance and Budgeting
- Introduction to Politics
- Reading for Research
- Road Ready
- Applying to University
- Into Work
- First Aid
- Living Sustainably
Each student is assigned a Lower Sixth Foundation Studies group (A - H) according to their tutor group:
A = S2 , S3 , S4 E = S9 , S11 , S13
B = S1 , S5 F = S14 , S15 , S16
C = S6 , S7 , S8 G = S17 , S18, S19
D = S10 , S12 H = S20 , S21 , S22
Each FS group proceeds around the key skills carousel in a different order according to a chart given to students at the start of the year.
