Fitness, Strength & Conditioning

Every student at King Edwards has the opportunity to develop physically through the use of our fitness suite. All students are inducted on how to use age appropriate movements and equipment in the facility and this gives them the opportunity to attend the fitness suite at lunch times and after school. Currently we have had to organise a timetable to ensure student safety that is for the use of specific bubbles at one time.

Our students are educated on how to create their own training programmes as well as having access to specialist 1:1 advice from Mr Richardson, Head of Strength and Conditioning. We run weekly fitness class in the fitness suite and dance studio that aim to challenge our students to ensure they can reach their physical ambitions as well as give them the resources to take ownership of their training as they move through the school and into later life. Our strength and conditioning programme aims to provide our Elite Performers with extra support in their development to aid them in progress. Recently an Upper Sixth student taught the younger students to Olympic lift, the 1st Years developed their movement through an assault course and our Upper School Students have analysed their lifting techniques.
