Sport at KES

Head of Cricket: Mr D Kent

We operate 2 senior teams with A and B teams at U15 and U14 and A, B, C teams at U13 and U12.

Winter nets take place in the spring term and there are regular practices after school every day in the summer term.

Fixtures are played throughout the summer term. The senior sides compete in regional and national competitions and regularly play fixtures on both Wednesday and Saturday. Younger sides also compete in regional knock-out competitions in addition to their regular Saturday fixtures.

In the 2016 season KES teams reached the finals in all 4 county competitions winning the U13 final.  In addition the U15 reached the last 32 of the national Taverners Trophy.

Currently the school has block fixtures against Magdalen College School, Churchers College, Lancing College, Reading Blue Coat, Portsmouth Grammar School, Bryanston and Hampshire Collegiate School.

In July 2011 the Senior School side competed in the inaugural “Murali Cup” competition in Sri Lanka coming runners up in the plate competition. The U12 and U13's sides toured Guernsey recently with fixtures against Elizabeth College and the Guernsey junior sides.

In the summer of 2016 the 1st XI returned to Sri Lanka for an end of season tour which provided all players and staff with memories for a lifetime.

The school uses the extensive coaching knowledge of both members of staff and external coaches room Hampshire County Cricket Club.
