Netball

Head of Netball: Miss Cole

The netball at KES is constantly growing and it is so great to see the number of girls attending training and weekend fixtures.

During the Autumn term the U12A, U13A & U15A teams compete in the national schools cup competition which is run over numerous rounds in a knockout format. The U14, U16 & U19 enter in to the national schools competition which is a great opportunity for some girls to play netball outside of the main term for the sport.

In the spring term ALL girls are invited to training sessions after school as well as to represent their age group at weekend fixtures. We play a variety of schools across all age groups including, Churches College, Ryde, Canford, Dauntseys, Epsom College.

The seniors play some fixtures on their Wednesday afternoon games lesson where they will play local schools and college such as PGS & Lord Wandsworth.

We run netball tours currently at U13 & Senior age groups. The U13 tour is a short haul tour that is often to Belfast over 5 days and the senior tour is a longer haul tour often to the Caribbean with recent years going to Jamaica for approx. 10 days. These tours allow the girls to develop netball skills in a short period of time as well as experiences of different cultures.

The netball season is often finished by a very competitive game of netball for the leavers of the 6th vs the Staff team. This is a great way to end the season and is a small celebration for the senior players who have represented KES in netball.
