Captain of Rugby: Luke Ward

Rugby is the major competitive sport for boys in the Autumn term.  Our Saturday fixtures are an excellent opportunity for boys to represent the School and to work with their peers to develop their performance.  We regularly play some of the more established rugby playing Schools in the south.

We field 12 teams: 2 senior teams and A and B teams at U15 and U14 with an addition of a C team at U13 and U12 to create opportunities for as many players as possible to represent King Edward VI School.

We enter the county cup at U15 and U16 level and have also entered the County 10s tournament which we are the reigning champions.  In addition to this, we enter the Nat West Cup at U15 and U18 level.

Each September King Edward VI School host the South Coast Kings Rugby Tournament where Schools compete in Under 15 and Under 18 competitions. This established tournament attracts some of the strongest Schools and Colleges from all over the UK.

A large number of our students are involved in county rugby and there are also a number of players who train at the London Irish academy.

All team details including fixtures, travel arrangements, and staff contacts can be found on this link to fixtures.
